Installation Guide And Classification Standards Of Suspension Clamp
Installation Steps:
1. Determine the installation location: First, determine the location of the suspension clamp to be installed on the steel pipe or wire according to the needs of the power line. Normally, the installation location should be more than 1200mm from the ground.
2. Install the bolts: After determining the installation location, we need to drill holes in the wires or steel pipes, insert the bolts into the holes, and fix the nuts and washers at the other end.
3. Fix the suspension cable clamp: Slowly place the suspension cable clamp onto the bolt, and then use pliers to secure it.
4. Check the fixation: After confirming that the suspension clamp is firmly fixed, not loose, and does not tilt in any way, the installation operation can be completed.
According to different classification standards, suspension clamps can be divided into the following types:
Classification by structural form:
● U-shaped screw suspension clamp: It is composed of the clamp hull made of malleable cast iron, the pressure plate and the U-shaped screw. It uses two U-shaped screws to compress the pressure plate to fix the conductor in the clamp hull. The hull is hung by the hanging plate formed by stamping two steel plates, and the hanging plate is installed on the hanging shafts on both sides of the hull. The rotating shaft of the clamp and the conductor are on the same axis, and it rotates flexibly.
● Pre-twisted suspension clamp: It is composed of the inner pre-twisted wire, the outer pre-twisted wire, the suspension head and the matching connecting fittings. Its function is to be used for the connection of ADSS optical cable, OPGW optical cable, various conductors, etc. on the straight pole tower. The combination of the inner and outer spiral pre-twisted wires can protect the optical cable well, without concentrated stress and avoiding the generation of bending stress, and has the function of protecting and auxiliary vibration reduction for the optical cable.
Classification by usage environment:
● Ordinary suspension clamp: Applicable to general overhead power lines.
● Tension suspension clamp: Applicable to tension pole towers or corner pole towers.
● Jumper suspension clamp: Applicable to the fixation of jumpers.
Classification by applicable conductor type:
● Single-conductor suspension clamp: Applicable to the fixation of a single conductor.
● Double-conductor suspension clamp: Applicable to the fixation of double conductors.
● Multi-split conductor suspension clamp: Applicable to the fixation of multi-split conductors.
Different types of suspension clamps have different characteristics and application scopes, and in practical applications, the appropriate suspension clamp should be selected according to the specific situation.
